A war in which the US attempted to expand its borders by invading CANADA, but they failed horribly. They ended up getting their capital burnt down by the Britich who were on the same side as the Canadians. Although the US failed to invade Canada they did manage to end the war in a draw. Some people believe that the winner of the war of 1812 is a matter of oppinion and I would a gree with that. -

James Monroe was the 5th president of the United States. He signed the Monroe doctrine that warn EU countries that tried to colonize in the western hemisphere. He also helped the US' trading with countries in the EU. -

It was called the transcontinental treaty. Which gave Florida land to the US. Florida is also one of the US' biggest states so this was a good accomplishment. -
