  • Plessy v. Ferguson

    The Supreme Court upheld a Louisianna law requireng "separate but equal accommodations" for white and black passengers for railroads. The Court ruled that the Louisianna law did not violate the Fourteenth Amendment's guarantee of "equal protectio of the laws."
