It was known as the great communication device of the 1920s. they were now able to broadcast news, voices, and music across the country using radio signals. the earliest sets for houses had crystals instead of tubes, had to tune in a signal by moving fine wire called (whiskers), and they didn't have speakers so they had to use earphones so then you could hear was was being said.

in 1930 Makenzie king was over thrown as prime minister by the new one named R.B. Bennet who was conservative. he stated that he could fix Canadas economic issues but he in fact made them worse so eventually king was elected once again.

the union was a political party created by french Canadians. the leader of the group was Maurice Duplessis who was a lawyer. they claimed that the English minority and the federal government were the cause of economic and social problems in Quebec.
