    Bill Of Rights was ratified
    The Bill of rights was created for rights of people and to limit the rights of congress. Congress approved twelve and sent them for ratification and it was created.
  • George Washington was reelected and John Adams became Vice president

    George Washington was elected for the second time by unanimous electoral college- Washington was “unopposed”. John Adams received less votes than ‘Washington but more than others so he became Vice president.
  • United States Senate election in New York, 1795

    Rufus King ran for the second time from the Federalist Party. The State Senate and the State Assembly both chose him and he was reelected.
  • Naturalization Act of 1795

    It was “replacing and repealing” the same one from 1790. They changed it so the required amount of years of residence from two years to five.They made a two step “naturalization” where naturalized citizenship was only given to white people. Lastly, they changed “good character” to “good moral character”.

    The library of Congress is the “oldest federal cultural institution in the United States.” It was moved from New York and Philadelphia to Washington D.C.
  • Thomas Hartley died

    Thomas Hartley died
    He was born in pennsylvania and practiced law in New York. In 1775, he participated in the provincial convention. In 1778, he commanded an Indian expedition and much more. He is now buried in New York at the St. John’s Churchyard.

    During this election, James Monroe was elected as President. He was from the Democrat- Republican party and he got 183 electoral votes. The Vice president was Rufus King, a Federalist who got only 34 electoral votes.

    Missouri is a state in the Midwestern part of the US and its capital is in Jefferson City which is on the Missouri River. In addition, it is very extensive- by area and it is also geographically diverse.
  • The Fugitive Slave act was passed.

    The Fugitive Slave act was passed.
    It was passed by the United States Congress in 1850. This was done as a compromise between the “Southern slave-holding interests and Northern Free-Soilers.” The act stated that “all escaped slaves were, upon capture, to be returned to their masters and that officials and citizens of free states had to cooperate in this law.”
