  • 1890- Sir Henry Parks, the premier of NSW convinces other premiers to discuss federation.

  • 1891- A national convention was held. Each colony sent seven representives, from these one, comitee was chosen to begin to write a constitution.

  • 1891-94 Colonies begin to loose interest in Federation.

  • NSW urgers the colonial parliments to hold a new convention, to decide on a draft constitution. People were now given a chance to agree on a constitution, by vote.

  • NSW renews call for another federation convention.

  • 1897-98 The second National Australiasian convention meets in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, and agrees to the constituion.

  • The premiers met to find ways of meeting the concerns of those three colonies. Among the changes that were made, the best descion was to cretae a new capital city. Between Melbourne, and Sydney.

  • The Constituion act, was passed by the British Parliment in May, and was signed by Queen Victoria.

  • On the first of Janurary, 1901. Queesland, South Australia, NSW, Tasmania,Victoria became united.
