Harpers ferry raid happened October 16-18 1859. It was armed band of abolishment led by John brown on the federal armory located at harpers ferry in Virginia. It was a main precipitating incident to the American civil war. Sporadic fighting took place around the arsenal for 2 days. Aftermath, 16 people were killed in the raid including 10 of browns men. -
