Uncle Tom Cabin
Harriet Beecher was the one who wrote the Uncle Tom Cabin. Which was basically stating the struggles and difficulties one was facing during slavery, it was gathering the attention of various amounts. It saw how those who knew them or were family were being treated now the South they went on and stated that apparently they don't run things like that, and it happen to just be a simple misunderstanding. -
Republican Party
The Republican Party was starting to have some popularity and started rising, the whole reason was they got the idea from an act called the Kansas Nebraska Act. Now the Kansas-Nebraska Act which wanted to expand slavery in other places, now the Republican Party they were being involved with the South and North which would also be involved with the Civil War. -
Kansas-Nebraska Act
Now the Kansas-Nebraska Act was when the Missouri Compromise was when they were deciding which states would get to have slavery and which one didn't. Now violence was starting to become very popular and an answer, and this was because of the Political Parties. -
Bloody Kansas
The Bloody Kansas was a violent event during the Civil War that happened when multiple killings were going on and didnt stop until around 1861, it's whole reason was slavery was going to be an issue onto the South and North. -
John Brown
John Brown was involved with the Bloody Kansas, now he was someone who wanted to abolish slavery he felt that God was calling him to do so. John Brown was seen as a hero to those in the North, he was viewed that way because the South feared him. -
Election 1856
The election of 1856 was when John Fremont was being elected and he basically wanted to just repeal the Kansas -Nebraska act, now the election was between the South and North. Now the Republicans they were the one who won the election. -
Brooks-Sumner
Brooks Sumner was a senator and he was beaten by a cane and the South they were viewing Brooks at the time as a hero and Sumner as a hero as well and showed the tensions between the South and North. -
Dred Scott
Dred Scott had been in between the South and North with the court cases, Scott v. Sanford, the case decided that basically the government would have action to start putting limits in slavery. Eventually they started to actually limit the rights of those with slaves and citizenship, now this was spreading the Civil War very much. -
LeCompton Constitution
LeCompton had made a new constitution that allowed for those who own slaves to stay protected and those with slaves were being treated wrongly. -
House Divided Speech
Basically Lincoln thought that Dred Scott had been making slavery legal up in the North which would allow for new territories to start moving up into further more into the US. Now Lincoln he was stating that slavery should not be the reason for territories splitting, instead decide with one choice free from slavery or not. -
Lincoln Douglas Debates
The debate of Lincoln Douglas was primarily about issues that were going on about slavery and how the world and the people were for it and against it, the meetings were so they can secure the tensions going. -
Harpers Ferry
John Brown was the one who invaded along with others into the Harper Ferry, the whole reason for being was to give slaves equipment so they can fight back, now that didn't go as plan because they were taken and being violated by Robert E. Lee -
Browns Execution
After the Harper's Ferry when Brown got captured he was going to be punished for the actions he made when starting the raid, now many people wanted him killed but others viewed him as hero primarily the African Americans, since they were the one helping them. -
1860 Election
The 1860 election primarily was about the Democrats from the North and South and the biggest subject was slavery, but Lincoln he won he had like around 180 votes, he got most the support from the North because the South didn't want to hear anything for him. -
Start of Slaves State´s Secession
Basically South Carolina they decided to create their own secession and it would actually lead to the start of another war, which only made states leave the union and stop supporting them. -
Lincoln's First Inaugural Address
This was Lincoln's first Inaugural Speech, now in his speech he was trying to stop and not start any new wars from happening. Now he wasn't biased though because everyone knew he still favored the North but he kept it no as obvious to start and new tension.
