    The Swedish imigrated to America in the 19th and early 20th century. The Swedish immigrated to America because of the lower costing farm land that had rich fertile soil. Then also because of the higher paying jobs in the mechanical industries and factories that were, for example, in Chicago, Minneapolis, Worcester and many other smaller cities. What pushed them out of Sweden was that they didn't have many fertil farms that produced a good crop season. Then the population grew very quickly.
