  • The signing of the Declaration of Independence

    July 4th
    Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, John Adams, and
    congress all signed the Declaration of Independence
    to join the 13 colonies as one in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
    I chose this because it’s a big part of America today.
  • Articles of Confederation

    July 9th
    U.S. and Great Britain made the Articles
    Of Confederation at the National Archives to establish
    the functions of the U.S. government. I chose this because
    it helped make America what it is today.
  • Treaty of Paris

    U.S. and Great Britain signed the Treaty of Paris and ended the revolutionary war in Paris, France. i chose this because it was an ending to one of the wars that the U.S. was involved in.
  • Constitution Was Signed

    John Blair, James Madison, William Bloun, Richard Dobbs Spaight, Hugh Williamson, William Few, Abraham Baldwin, James McHenry, Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer, Daniel Carroll, John Rutledge, Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, Charles Pinckney, and Pierce Butler all signed the constitution in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I chose this event because it was, and still is a huge part in what makes America today.
  • George Washington was mad the first President of the United States

    George Washington was elected our first President by the congress actually on February 4th but the started the Presidency on April 30th. I chose this event because it had a huge effect on the U.S. and made how we are ruled today.
  • Bill of Rights

    The U.S. government all came together at the National Archives to create The Bill of Rights as part of their Constitution to give the citizens natural rights, or rights that cannot be taken away and are given to the citizen at birth. I chose this event because citizens today still rely on it and it is one of the most well- known parts of the constitution today.

    Eli Whitney lived in the south and made a machine for the slaves that quickly and easily separates seeds from cotton instead of using their hands.
  • Washington District of Columbia Became the Capitol of the United States.

    The United States finally got a capitol for their nation. The government decided where it would stand, they chose in between the states of Maryland and Virginia. i chose this event because it is still around today, it's where everything is decided, and people all around the world go to visit it.

    The Louisiana Purchase was a land deal between the U.S. and France in which the U.S. gained about 827,000 square miles of land, west of the Mississippi River for $15 million.

    Lewis and Clark

    Lewis and Clark were sent on an expedition by President Jefferson to explore the western territory. This would help with Manifest Destiny. I chose this because it was a big part of out country.
  • Slave Trade Abolished

    The house at 4am voted in favour of the Bill by 283 votes to 16. The slave trade was finally abolished. The Slave Trade was the use of British ships to move slaves from place to place. I chose this event because it made a big step to getting slavery to end overall in the U.S.
  • War of 1812 Begins

    The War of 1812 was a war between the U.S. an Britain over British violation of the U.S. rights. I chose this event because it was a big war that the U.S. fought in.
  • Treaty of Ghent

    The Treaty of Ghent ended the War of 1812 by the British and Americans signing the treaty in Ghent, Belgium. I chose this event because its how an important war ended peacefully.
  • Missouri Comprise

    Henry Clay led the Missouri Compromise to attempt to get Missouri to be a non- slavery state, but it ended up becoming a slave state. I chose this because it shows how the South felt about the government and what the government felt about the South.
  • Monroe Doctrine

    James Monroe made the deliverance of the Monroe Doctrine to the Congress. the Doctrine warned the European nations would not tolerate further colonization or puppet monarchs. I chose this event because it has part of showing how powerful our nation was back then.
  • Erie Canal Opens

    The Erie Canal opened a gateway between the Great Lakes and the Atlantic Ocean. Governor DeWitt Clinton was the main investor in the canal, and was the first person to ride a boat down the canal from Buffalo to New York. I chose this event because it made an evolution of trading for the U.S. and other nations.
  • Indian Removal Act

    This act allowed Indians to live only where congress approved of. President Andrew Jackson authorized the Indian Removal act. I chose this event because the US could use their land.
  • Lincoln's Assassination

    Lincoln went to the Ford's Theater to watch a play and got shot by John Wilkes Booth and was rushed to the hospital across the street where he was presumably dead. I chose this event because it was the death of one of the best President's the U.S. had.
  • American Revolution Begins

    The British stated the American Revolution because they exchanged gunfire at Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts.I chose this event because it was a huge part in the American way today.
  • The First Telephone

    Alexander Grahm Bell and Antonio Meucci invented the first telephone in the U.S. I chose this event because without this invention, we couldn't have the social media, suicide and depression rate would be way lower, we would have way less drama, and everyone in the U.S would act much differently.
