    Americas discovered
    Christopher columbus travelled to america in 1492 with 3 other ships. they first travelled to the canery islands to restock before setting sail again. On the 11 of October Christopher saw a light in the distance which was the first discovery of America. The next day he and his crew landed in the Bahamas. Christopher was the first one to touch the shores of the beach. He and his crew soon discovered that it was only one of many islands.

    The enlightenment is a period in history where major cultural change happened because intellectuals wanted to challenge the beliefs of the church. Instead of following the thought that religion was the answer to everything, people were educated about science and the new belief that humans could understand the world around them, that they had the ability to reason and could therefore solve all of their problems. The enlightenment developed scientific methods such as experiments.

    The industrial revolution began in Great Britain. It was an Economic change and it differed the way the world produced goods. During this time, the population went from being agricultural to industrial, which meant that more people were moving away from the country and into the cities to find work. During this time there were also many advances in technology and in steam power. Many believe that it was not a good revolution for the earth as because of it there was a lot of pollution produced.

    The American revolution happened because America wanted independance from England because The British government tired to pass some laws, enforce several taxes,
    and increase more control over the colonies but the colonys didnit like these laws and taxes and they wanted England to have no control over them, starting a war. when the war ended in 1783 The United States of America had won.

    The First Fleet
    on 13th may 1788 Captain cook lead eleven ships with around 1100 people on it including 10 civil officers, 212 marines plus 28 wives and 17 children, 81 free settlers, 504 male convicts and 192 female convicts leaving Great Britain to go to Australia. Between the 18th and 20th of January 1788 the First Fleet arrived in Botany Bay, but soon headed along the coast, finding a harbour naming it Sydney. On the 26th of January they raised the Union Jack to proclaim New South Whales as British a Colony

    The French Revolution was when a group of people at the bottom of society - the poorer people - rebelled against the rich people at the top of social ladder because they had lived there lives with ease while the poor people struggled everyday, giving power to every poverty-stricken person throughout Europe.

    Smallpox epidemic wipes out half of the Indigenous population in Sydney, only a year after the first fleet carrying at least 1,350 white people. It's said that the indigenous people believed that the people on the first fleet brought the disease over to Australia with them, for the purpose of wiping out the indigenous so that they could have the land to themselves.
  • Myall Creek Massacre

    On the 10th of June 1838, a group of 12 stockmen came riding horses up to the hits of Myall creek station, holding guns and swords. The stockmen herded the aboriginals into a hut with only two young boys escaping. One of the stockmen undid a large tether rope and tied the people together and dragged them down to the creek where two shots were fired then they killed them by hacking and slashing them to death then beheading them. The only lives that were spared were two young women.

    Convicts being transported to New South Whales from America because America didn't want the convicts staying in America. However this stopped happening on the 22 May 1914 but wasnt fully abolished until October 1 1850 because when they turned away the convicts, Sydney ended up getting all the un-wanted exhiles.

    In 1851 the first gold rush was in May when Edward Hargraves discovered gold in NSW. during the first year of the gold rush, Australias population doubled because the gold nuggets attracted many immigrants from all over the world, wanting to be rich.

    The federation of Australia was when all the 6 states of Australia - consisting of, New South Whales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and Victoria all came together to form one nation with a federal government.

    the boxer rebellion was a violent uprising in China against the influence of European powers within China. the rebellion Killed many people and even though it failed, it stirred up enough national pride within China.

    Out break of ww1

    The immediate cause that triggered the other factors is the Assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinard, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary and his wife Sophie in 1914 by a Serbian Nationalist on the 28th of June, while they were in Sarajevo, Bosnia which was part of Austria-Hungary at the time, this was to protest to Austria-Hungary having control of this region. This assassination led to the mutual defence alliance coming into action.

    The Gallipoli Campaign was a joint millitary opperation of the Allied Countries in Gallipoli. the Gallipoli campaign happened to open up a thrid front in addition to the Eastern front and the Western front. the initial attacks were on the 16 February but due to weather conditions were postponed many times.

    The Treaty of Versailles was a peace settlement signed months after the end of world war. The treaty was signed in versailles by Germany and the allies to ensure lasting peace and punishment to Germany.

    the discovery of electricity

    In 1752, Benjimen Franklen discovered electricity because he was curious about lightning and what it was. So he did an experiement out in a thunderstorm by tying a metal key to the bottom of a kite. The electricity travelled down the string and gave him an electric shot.
