    The declaration of independence which stated that 13 of the american colonies were now independent states and not under british rule, who they were with war with at the time.This led to the americans becoming independent.

    The first fleet of 11 ships, with more than 1480 men women and children on board. The ships mainly consisted of british with the exception of african, american and french convicts. This changed the culture of australia with the british entering a land inhabited by only aboriginals for 40,000 years. This lead to the events of the gold rush and federation listed in the timeline.

    Spain was in debt for $5 million dollars and so they traded part of florida to pay of their dedt of $5 million dollars to to the US. That is why florida is part of the US today.

    Women in british factories were restricted ta a ten hour day
    The Factory Act of 1847. This restricted the working hours of women and children in British factories to 10 hours per day. Paul Hargreaves introduced this law unsuccessfully several times before Parliament finally passed it in1847. Many laws lead to improved conditions for workers.

    In Feudal shogun japan the isolation policy know as sakoku was introduced in 1639. An exception was made for chinese and dutch traders. The japanese shogunate put this rule in primarily to maintain power knowing that foreigners couldn't change the thoughts of the citizens about beliefs. As well as the fear of foreign conquest. It ended with the arrival of the United States, Japan finally faced the ultimate national infringement. By this time, Japan was no longer able to avoid foreign contacts.
  • Eureka stockade

    Eureka stockade
    The Eureka stockade was a stockade built by miners on the gold fields of ballarat. The miners rebelled against the unfair rules and regulations on the gold field. On the morning of december 3. The battle lasted 15 minutes with at least 22 dead miners as the rest fled. Word spread quickly to melbourne and the general population supported the diggers ideals. Eventually the diggers rights were restored. Some people view this incident as the birth of democracy in Australia.

    The telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell once he sucessfully tested the telephone with his assistant. It revolutionized communication due to it's ease of use. It was an invention that changed the modern era.

    On 20 april 1889 Adolf hitler was born. He was born in the Upper Austrian border town Braunau am Inn. Which is located 105 km from Munich and 48km north of Salzburg. He went on to become a major cause of world war 1. Becoming a natzie leader.

    The first modern olympics begins. It was the first international olympics. First olympic games in the modern era. Due to the success of the games it has been led to more olympics being held after it. Which still happens to this day.

    The federation of Australia was when Australia became recognised as a country of it's own by the rest of the world.The british parliament passed legislation allowing the six Australian colonies to have a government as part of the commonwealth of australia.     The titanic sinks which was the largest passenger steamship in the world. Caused by the ship running into an iceburgin the north-west atlantic ocean and sinks. A total of 1,517 people die.

    This day is remmerbered as rememberence day. This day is where we have a minute of silence on the 11th hour of the 11th day. The world war effected britain largely. As a result of WW1 women had convinced many men that they deserved to be treated more equally. Also Britain was longer the rich country it hused to be. The war was paid with borrowed money. The tax of britain rose sharpely.
