  • Industrial revolution

    The industrial revolution was a period of time which changed the world. people moved to the areas of their work to save traveling long distances. and their were some of the best inventions and ideas ever created and revolutionised the world.
  • America gains independence

    In June 1776 the Americans were in full control of every state, but then the British Royal main base became New York city. The Royal Navy could use other coastal cities for small periods, but the country side was occupied by the rebels, where 90 percent of the population lived.
  • first fleet 1770 Capt. Cook landed in Aus.

    Captain Cook landed on Botany bay in modern day NSW. He thought it would be a great place to overtake and use the land to settle on. they over took the aboriginals and to show theirdominance, one of Cooks men shot an aboriginal.
  • French Revolution

    in 1789, the french monarchy had collapsed by 1792. The impact on the french can still be seen throughout europe. The French underwent a huge transformation in feudal and religeous areas.
  • Matthew flinders navigates

    matthew flinders, John Thistle and George Bass sailed around Tasmania to find it was an island, Flinders figured out he was a first class navigator. Flinders had an island named after him in bass strait.
  • New Holland changed name

    Matthew Flinders wanted to change the name of new holland to Australia. At first his idea was initilly rejected. but it was officially changed in brittan in 1824.
  • Invention of morse code

    Samuel Finley Breese Morse created morse code in 1840. Even though most technology based invention were created in early 1900's he thought of this 60 years before that. Tis invention allowed people to communicate when they were apart.
  • Gold rush

    People came from all over the globe to come to Ballarat in search for gold. The gold rush played a part in building our economy in Australia. Some people dug deep under the earths surface and some wouldnt dig so deep.
  • Australia Federates

    In 1901, Australia became their own country. The brittish parliment passed legislation in allowing Australias 6 colonies to federate into their own country. The Commonwealth of Australia was established as a constitutional monarchy.
  • Titanic sinks

    The titanic was departing from england and set for New York City. It was seen as virtually unsinkable. It then hit an ice burg and sunk and only some survived.
  • Start of WW1

    The First World War began when Britain and Germany went to war in August 1914. Prime Minister Andrew Fisher's government pledged full support for Britain. The Australian, New Zealand, Britain, and France troops grouped together and landed at Gallipoli together in 1915.
