    The HUAC (House Un-American Activities Commitee) was created to find Soviet spies and Communist sympathizers that have penetrated into the U.S. The HUAC also did some investigations into the Hollywood Ten, thinking they were helping the Communists. Joe McCarthy, a Senator, suspected several people in the goverment of being a Communist or working for the Communists. Also the HUAC and McCarthy were both violating Constitional rights.

    The U.S. dropped food and supplies into Berlin to help citizens and soldiers fight off the Soviets.

    The Korean War is a conflict between North and South Korea, which were seperated by a border named the 38th parallel. It was mostly a proxy war between the U.S. and the USSR. The war didn't have any winners or losers during since it kept on going back and forth until a stalemate was reached at the 38th parallel. The fighting ended July 27, 1953 when the Armistice was signed to end the fighting.
