  • Start of Seven Years War

    The first major war in the US was also known as the French and Indian War. The war was between England and France.

  • End of Seven Years War

    The war between France and England ended and England made the colonists pay for war costs causing conflict.

  • Boston Massacre

    A deadly riot where a patriot mob attacked a British loyalist and resulted in British soldiers killing 3 men and injuring 8 men.

  • Boston Tea Party

    Sons of Liberty went to the Boston port and dumped all the tea into the harbor protesting the taxation of the colonist's tea.

  • Start of the Revolutionary War

    Previous incidents pushed the Colonists and England to war. The Revolutionary War is the fight between American colonists and England. American colonists were fighting to gain their freedom from England.

  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    The "shot heard around the world" marks the start of the Revolutionary War

  • Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence was published declaring The United States independence from Britain.

  • Articles of Confederation

    The colony's first constitution united the colony creating a system of government.

  • End of the Revolutionary War

    The war ended giving America freedom from England.

  • Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris ended the Revolutionary War and gave America their freedom from England

  • US Constitution

    The US Constitution was written making a foundation for the United States.

  • First Inauguration George Washington becomes president

    George Washington becomes the first president of the United States. He set an example for future presidents to follow.

  • 10 Amendments

    The first ten Amendments were added to the Constitution These helped to develop the Country and determine the rules they are what keeps the US as a strong country.

  • George Washington leaves office

    George Washington was president for two terms setting an example for every other president to follow. He spent it setting up the US government.

  • John Adams becomes president

    John Adams is inaugurated and becomes the second president.
