The Paleo Indians were the first indians to arrive in Tennessee. Paleo comes from the Greeks and means "ancient" or "very old" These Indians were the ones who crossed the Berring land Bridge and arrived at the end of the last Ice Age.

The Archaic Indians came after the Paleo Indians. They were the first to bring farming and agriculture. These Indians made a very importans weopon called the atlatl.

The woodland Indians were the next INdians to arrive in Tennessee. These were the first Indians to cultivate corn. They made the "weirt", which is like a fishing net, to catch fish.

De Soto is the first european that arrived in Tennessee. De Soto brought 30 men to go with him. He arrived around Chattanooga when he came to the Hiwassee River. De Soto ad his party of 30 men burned and pillaged Idian villages in 1542 after crossing the Mississippi River.

The French established the colony Quebec in Canada

The first two Englishmen to set foot in Tennessee were James Needham and Gabriel Arthur. They were guided my a man named Indian John. Later Indian John and Needham got in a fight ad Indian John shot Needham. When Idian John came for Arthur the Cherokee saved Arthur.

In 1682 La Salle built a fort at Memphis.

King Philips war was between the Brittish and France. This was a war for control over Europe. The fourth war in this series was the French and Indian War.

Daniel Boone was born in Pennsylvania. His family were Quakers. Boone's father lived in england and moved to Pennsylvania because he was a Quaker.

Boone fought alongside the Brittish in the French and Indain War. George Washington also fought in the French and Indian War.

The Treaty of Paris wasa signed. Under the Treaty of Paris the Indians were given all land between The Apalachians and the Mississippi. Anyone whp tried to take the land would loose it to King George the 3rd and Great Brittan.

Daniel Boone and his party made a trail out of an Indian train through the mountains.

In 1775 Boone and his party turned an Indian Trail into a road called the Wilderness Trail. Now families ad others can travel on the road to go west.

The Cherokee helped Americans in the Rovolutionary War while the Creek helped the British. The Indians like the Cherokee and Creek were known as historic Indians because they were recorded and seen by people.

By this year almost 200,000 people had gone west on the Wilderness Road.

The battle of 1812 was against the Americans and The brittish. Indians wanted to help the americans or the brittish.The Shawnee (Red Sicks) and Creek fought with the Brittsh in the battle of 1812. The Cherokee helped the Americans in this battle.

Five Civilized tribes of Indians were sent west on the Trail of tears. These five indian tribes were the Creek, Chickasaw, Chacktaw and Cherokee. There were about 4000 cherokee who died on the trail of tears.
