    Shawn Corey Carter was born in Brooklyn, New York, weighing 10 pounds 8 ounces.
  • Reasonable Doubt

    Jay-Z's first studio album released on Roc-A-Fella Records (as an independent lable) and had a total of four singles. This album would eventually recieve platinum status in 2002 and sold over 1.5 million copies. This ablum is widely precieved as one of the greatest rap ablums of all time.
  • In My Lifetime, Vol. 1

    This is his second studio album released on Roc-A-Fella Records and Def Jam Records. This album would also become platinum and included two singles.
  • Vol. 2: Hard Knock Life

    This is Jay-Z's third studio album with Roc-A-Fella Records. This album sold over 5.7 million copies in the U.S.

    His seventh album and is a double ablum with the first part "The Gift" and the second, "the Curse". This album invovles disses to other rappers such as Nas and Jaz-O.
