    America "Discovered"

    America "Discovered"
    Columbus the Bum "Discovers" America in 1492. He set sail the same year. He planned to find Asia by heading west. He was hoping to trade for spices. He got the original 13 colonies by cmpromising with the Natives for land. Significance: Without this, America wouldn't be here today! Execpt Colombus didn't find it, he claimed it for England. Without his "discovery", we wouldn't have all this rich history!
  • Louisiana Purchase

    Louisiana Purchase
    The Louisiana Purchase was a purchase we made to buy Louisiana, which was then a HUGE chunk of land, then about 1/3 of the country. Significance: Louisiana, then a HUGE chunk of land, was bought by America for $15,000,000, It was then split up into more countries, which made up the 50 states. It also got us more land from the Native Americans.
  • Dred Scott Decision

    Dred Scott Decision
    The Dred Scott Decision was a case against the fact of blacks not being equal. This is a famous case, as it was started by a black man. Significance: It was a trail that ended in slaves, free or not, were not citizens, but that the Missouri Compromise was Unconstitutional. This is a huge deal, as the compromise was a huge official document.
  • Civil War

    Civil War
    The Civil War was the bloodiest battle of American History. This war was extremely crazed, as Lincoln himself was in shock of the destruction it caused. Significance: In it's path, it freed slaves, but bad came of it, being the bloodiest battle, losing half of America (For a time-being), and then killing a president!
  • Emancipation Proclamation

    Emancipation Proclamation
    The Emancipation Proclamation was a speech given by the late Abraham Lincoln. It inspired leaders to accept black soldiers in the army. Significance: It was given on the 3rd year of the Civil War to free all slaves in rebelling states. It let blacks fight in the war, so they weren't left jobless.
  • Lincoln Assassination

    Lincoln Assassination
    President Abraham Lincoln was Assassinated on April 15th, 1865 by John Wilkes Booth, famous Confederate actor. This was the 1st in 4 assassinations. Significance: This was the first assassination of a president ever, and it leaves a huge mark on history. It led to conspiracies, manhunts, and even a $100,000 bounty, which was about $1million back then!
  • Apollo 11!

    Apollo 11!
    The Apollo 11 mission was a mission to send a man to the moon! This was a huge deal, as a man to the moon!?! Unheard of! (except for all the chatter of the event.) Significance: Man. To. Moon. BOOM! It was a huge thing, as we never went as fast as then, never went so far, and never even thought it was possible!
