The man is in Ann's house. He set up a tent in the front yard and made a fire out of her wood.

Ann comes down from the cave because the man has not come out of his tent since swimming in the radiation infected creek.

Ann finds out information about the man. His name is John R. Loomis who was a in Ithaca, New York.

Loomis is still sick and Ann is taking care of him. She keeps track of his temperature and gets him medicine or whatever he needs from the store.

Loomis' temperature is returning to normal and getting his color back. He is seeming to be less sick.

It is Ann's 16th birthday. They celebrate with dinner. They are also celbration Loomis' recovery.

Loomis begins walking again. Not perfect, but doing better.

Ann moves back to the cave without telling Loomis.

Ann sees Loomis in the procees of having Faro find her.

Loomis shoots Ann in the ankle. She is now hiding from him in the woods.

Ann goes back to talk to Loomis. She knows if she doesn't he will come looking for her.
