    The 19th Amendment granted women the right to vote in the United States, whihc is a right known as women's suffrage. This event is significant because when the US was first founded, women did not have the same rights as men and were not trated fairly. When the 19th Amendment was ratified, women finally have a say in who becomes president, giving women more power and a step closer to being equal in respect with the men.

    (No specific date) Insulin is used in the body to prevent blood sugar from reaching high levels. Before insulin, diabetes was a huge issue which led to death for many. Later, after experimentation with dogs and pancreas extract, insulin was discovered to lower blood sugar. This is sgnifican because using insulin in the bodu can lower blood sugar and help someone dope with diabetes, preventing death.

In the US, the depression was caused by a huge stock market collapse, known as the Wall Street crash on Black Tuesday. It was significant because it caused many inidvidual investors and citizens alike to become broke and struggle to survive as infation and many other problems occured.

    Star-Spangled Banner becomes National Anthem
    Francis Scortt Key composed the lyrics to the Star-Spangled Banner in 1814 after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry. Later on, this piece was put to the tune of an old English folk song knows as "To Anacreon in Heaven". I think this event is significantly important because I feel as if it shows a lot of patriotism and nationalism and is still used today.

    President Paul von Hindenburg names Adolf Hitler chancellor of Germany on January 30th, 1933. This is significant because this marked the start of the rise of Nazi Germany since Hitler was given enough power so that no one could really do anything to stop him. This event chanegd the world and was indirectly one of he causes of World War II.

This event is significant because this international phone call showed technological advancement and encourage inventors to keep finding new ways to improve communication across the world.
