    It has been 9 years since the release of the most iconic smart phone in modern times, the phone has helped revolutionized and shaped smart phones into what it is known today. The apple iPhone was introduced in early 2007 with limits 2 per customer.
    The Iconic line of smartphones, first begins when Apple Inc’s engineers were tasked to investigate touchscreens and tablet computers, which also happen to be the beginnings of the iPad.
    This was orchestrated by Steve Jobs.

    Apple’s debut of the iPhone was first in 2007 with the original iPhone, featuring the iconic home button, rear metal casing, and a 3.5-inch display touchscreen. One of the kind on the smartphone market at the time. A 3-in-1 device was described by Steve Jobs during the keynote presentation, iPod with touch controls, revolutionary mobile phone and a breakthrough internet device.

    One year later in 2008, Apple second smart phone the iPhone 3G, similar rounded design with a few changes to allow for more appropriate pricing. The metal rear casing was removed and replaced with sleek shiny black plastic. The iPhone 3G also gained 3G connectivity, GPS, third-party apps with a white model to choose from as well.

    In 2009 the iPhone 3GS was release, minor cosmetic changes but the real improvement was software improvement featured in the iOS 3 along with a 3-megapixel camera with capable recording abilities.

    Following their yearly release schedule in 2010 the iPhone 4 was released. The first major design incorporated by Apple. Made of stainless steel and glass the iPhone 4 shied away from the original round design into a more sleek square, flat look. Along with apps such as facetime and more hardware upgrades as a 3.5-inch retina display, and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash.

    Just like the transition from 3G to 3GS iPhones the iPhone 4 received an update to the iPhone 4S in 2011. The iPhones physical look didn’t change much, most changes were internal with a faster processor, 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video recording and a digital assistant called Siri.

    Apples second major redesign was featured in the iPhone 5 in 2012. New aluminum casing with 4-inch display and the lightest iPhone so far. With the major redesign Apple switched to the lightning connector and redesigned their iconic earphones.

    Not only did Apple release the 5S counterpart a year late continuing tradition, but they also introduced the iPhone 5c a multi-ranged plastic covered iPhone 5 that was cheaper for consumers. The iPhone 5S was the first time Apple had redesigned the home button adding a fingerprint touch ID. A gold option was also added to the selection.
