    This was the spark that started WW1, however to Canada it was mainly okay until the next month July when war was declared.

    The first trench was dug by Germans in the battle of Marne. When the allied troops halted the German push during the first month of WW1- a conflict expected to be shorter and decisive turns into a long and bloody in bloodier. This was the beginning of trench warfare but it's situation does the opposite of a better rating.

    This was the first use of the Germans "chlorine gas" which led to urination in towels and gas masks. The bombs would have been more effective if it wasn't as cold however it doesn't mean they weren't lethal.

    This is the biggest disaster on British history with over 400,000 casualties. This was where the 'Big push" took place leading to the large nber of casualties. Canadian soldiers now called 'Shock troopers".

    This battle was tough Britain and France took their attempts at taking this however they failed. However our Canadian soldiers made a plan, sculpted the area and made an attack being successful. This was one of the most tactical and planed battles, validating Canada as a nation and bringing a moral boost.

    This battle was bad, it took ten allied men to kill in one enemy troop. It was incredibly muddy. The British made shallower advances to make the opposition move more aggressively so they could counterattack a counterattack..

    This was a terrible event for Britain and Canada, the Halifax harbour was the big trading spot for the Triple Entante. This event wiped out everything in a 50 mile radius. It was also winter, so many displaced and injured. It was a dark day for Canada and Britain.

    This event occurred due to Russia's overthrow by the communsit group the"Bolsheviks' 'Making one less issue for Germany, this may have caused stress upon some parts of the Entente. However due to Nicholas Romanovs terrible leadership it wasn't to bad or the end of the Triple Entente.

    The four year war was finally over. However the "better future" the soldiers were told they were fighting for didn't come. Soldiers that fought had no compensation for their efforts and bread prices had doubled. Most people living of minimum wage had almost nothing to do, while the few rich factory owners were bathing in wealth. It began to look similar to a revolution that had recently occured.
