Germany Declares War
In August 1, 1914 German declares war on France and full mobilization of its troops. Germany invades neutral Belgium on August 4 and then Great Britain declares war on Germany and the United Sates declares its neutrality. -
The Sinking of the Lusitania
A German U-boat torpedoed the British owned steamship Lusitania killing 1,128 people including Americans, on May 7th, 1917. Because of this it set a disaster of a chain of events that led to the U.S entering WWI. -

The Germans signed a peace treaty with the government of Russia. The Treaty of Versailles gave Germany huge tracts of land that had been the Ukraine and Poland, and it also gave them peace on the Eastern Front allowing Germany to shift soldiers to the Western part. -
