  • Hobbes publishes Leviathan

    Of man, of commonwealth, of a christian commonwealth, and of the kingdom of darkness. Wants to explains by what reasons a commonwealth may govern men, and then to establish the best possible way for this government to function in order to accommodate the desires of it's commonwealth.
  • Locke publishes Two Treaties on Government

    King James 11 was overthrown by a group of Parliamentarians, result in what i known as of the Glorious Revolution, or the revolution of the 1688 John was presented to see the event and was so compelled by them, this lead to him writing the Two Treaties on Government.
  • Montesquieu Published The Spirit of Laws

    Type of government varied depending on circumstances. He argued that government was not modeled on the authority of fathers in their families.
  • Rousseau published The Social Contract, Emile

    Individual with the authority of the government. Attempts to unite the liberty of the Emile was important for education. It was argued that the individual finds his true being and freedom only in submission to the "general will" of the community.
  • Beccaria Published on Crimes and Punishments

    Belonged to a circle known as the Academy of Fists. This circle focused of reforming the criminal justice system.
