    This impacted history because he explained certain rules/restrictions, like the citizen's obligations to this state(Leviathan). Hobbes thought that a monarchy was best, and enforced the worship of god by laws.

    Two Treaties on Government
    The Two Treaties on Government was published by John Locke , and it was a work of political philosophy. The first treaty is a support of the divine right of kings( every man is a slave to a natural born king). The second treaty is a short preface, and included nineteen chapters.
    The two treaties had an impact on history because they supported Williams revolution known as the Glorious Revolution. The treaties were a solution to a monarchy that abused its privileges.

    The Spirit of Laws was published by Montesquieu as a treatise on political theory. It was one of the primary sources for the United States Constitution.
    Its major influences were on the development of Democratic institutions in Europe during and after the french revolution.

    Rousseau published this contract or also known as the "principals of political law" as an attempt to unite liberty of individuals with the authority of of the government.
    This was an impact on history because it influenced liberal and non-liberals alike, which makes him rather controversial in the history of political thought.

    "On Crimes and Punishment was published by Beccaria to explain that punishment should not be an act of violence committed by one person, or many again a private citizen, and is essential that it should be public.
    This is largely responsible for the development of today's United States criminal justice system. The system would look very different without this influence.
