    The religion of the Ottoman Empire was Islam.
    The Ottoman Empire traded Coffee, and Ceramics.
    The Ottoman Empire captured Constantinople and now i known as modern day Istanbul.

    Leonardo Da Vinci was known as the true Renaissance man. He painted the "Mona Lisa", "The Last Supper", and the "Vitruvian Man". Leonardo Da Vinci was Part of the Italian Renaissance.

    Henry The Navigators was a prince of Portugal who sent out fleets in 1520 to search Africa's west coast. There Henry the Navigator found gold and named it the Gold Coast.

    In 1899 the Boxer Rebellion happened in Beijing. The Boxer Rebellion was started by a secret society of Chinese who opposed the foreign presence and influence in China. The rebellion was ended by British troops when they fought against China.

    The Assassination Of Archduke Franz Ferdinand was the spark that started World War I. Archduke Ferdinand was the Austrian crown prince, was murdered on June 28, 1914, by a Serbian nationalist. Germany urged Austria-Hungary to fight and they went to war against Serbia.

    On September 1st, 1939. The German army under Hitler's control invaded Poland. This event sparked the start of World War II. Britain and France declared war on Germany starting the second World War.

    The Berlin Wall was a concrete and barbed wire wall that divided East and West Berlin from 1961 to 1989. The wall was built by the government to keep East Berliners from defecting to the West.

    Nelson Mandela was the Leader of the Anti-Apartheid movement. Due to his effort, Nelson Mandela was elected as president of South Africa. He was the first black head of state and the first elected in a fully representative democratic election. Nelson Mandela will always be honored in Africa for his heroic acts.

    On September 11th, 2001. Four coordinated terrorist attacks by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda against the United States. 2 planes were flown into the twin towers in New York City, 1 plane hit the side of the Pentagon in Washington DC, and the last plane was hijacked by al-Qaeda but then re-hijacked by the civilians on the plane and flew the plane into a field in Pennsylvania, so the plane wouldn't hit the pentagon. On that day 2,996 people died and more than 6,000 people were left injured.
