    First National Woman's Rights Convention
    This historic event was held in Wesleyan Chapel in Seneca Falls New York. The event was considered a success, it was the first time that we saw women officially meeton this large of a scale to discuss their rights. The event was two days long, the first being just for women to attend, which over 300 women did, and the second day they also welcomed 40 men that supported their cause.
  • Susan B. Anthony attempts to vote

    Susan B. Anthony attempts to vote
    Ms. Anthony cast a ballot in the 1872 presidential election in her hometown of Rochester New York. Two weeks later she was arrested and her vote was not counted. Susan continued to fight for women's rights by being a women's rights activist until she died in 1906, she spoke a many peaceful protest and helped organize other events for this movement.

    Steps Towards the Constitution
    Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton draft what would later become the 19th Amendment to the United States constitution. This would not be ratified for another 40 years, neither women lived to see this actually become an amendment.
  • Wyoming gives voting rights to women

    Wyoming gives voting rights to women
    Wyoming was the very first state to let women vote, and while it was a great thing that they had gained this right, historias believe that it was gained for the wrong reasons. State Legislatures in Wyoming were able to accomplish this with the argument that if black and chinese men can vote then women, especially white women, should be able to vote as well.

    This was the first olympics that women were allowed to participate in. This was a summer Olympic games held in Paris, France. The only event that was open to women was archery, tennis, golf, and races by foot. It would not be until 2006 that women would equally compete at the Olympics.
  • Women on Washington

    Women on Washington
    This event was organized by Alice Paul, thousands of women marched and this is still known as the largest protest in the United States. The march took place on pennsylvania avenue, the day before President Woodrow Wilson's inauguration.
  • 19th Amendment

    19th Amendment
    This amendment to the United States constitution gave women the right to vote, this specifically prohibited people denying them the right to vote based on sex. It is still believed that the biggest factor contributing to improvement of women's rights at this specific time is because of WW1.
  • The Equal Rights Amendment

    The Equal Rights Amendment
    This was similar to the 19th amendment in that it improved women rights but this amendment was proposed to reach a better state of equality that concerned employment property and divorce. This was ratified by 35 of the 38 states needed to make it part of the United States constitution so it was not implemented nation wide.
  • Equal In Military

    Equal In Military
    With minimal improvements through out the 1900's, Women in the United States Military typically served as nurses or cooks to help support the army more so than actually be apart of the fighting. By 2016, all Jobs and positions are open to women in the UNited States Army.
