    It was considered "Illegal voting" because Susan B. Anthony and other women questioned the courts of women bein citizens too which cause a lot of attention. And yes the court said they were citizens but they still denied them right to vote.
  • Carry Nation and thte WCTU

    Carry Nation and thte WCTU
    The reason for "Prohibition" was to ban alcoholic beverages. Prohibitionist groups had feared that the alcohol was "undermining" the American Morals.WTCU had members who even advanced their cause by going into saloons, singing, praying & urging saloonkeepers to quit selling the alcohol. Carry Nation wored for prohibiiton by walking into saloons, scolding the customers, and using her hatchet to destroy bottles of liquir. This helped bring US closer to acheiving women's suffrage b/c women stood up

    NAWSA Formed
    Was formed by the NWSA & another group in 1890 to become the NAWSA. The liquir industry feared that the women would vote in support of prhobition ( banning of alcohol), while the textile industry had to worry about the women voting for restrictions on child labor. All in all men were scared the women would change the role in society.

    Carrie Chapman had been organizing New York's women suffrage party, but when she came back she focused on 5 tactics (1): painstaking organization (2): close ties between local, state, and national workers (3): establishing a wide base of support (4): cautious lobbying & then (5): gracious, ladylike behavior. This helped bring US closer because women finally had a PLAN to win

    19th Amendment
    he 19th Amendment granted women the right to vote. The amendment had won final ratification in August 1920. 72 years had gone by from women demanding and conveding before the right was granted to them. This brough US closer to acheive women's suffrage because it avtually ended it.
