    Susan B. Anthony
    Helped lead the Womens suffrage movement. Founded the National Women Suffrage Association. Her and other women tested and attempted to vote almost 150 times in ten diffrent states.
  • Illegal Voting

    Women were unable to vote so they stuck to trying to improve work place conditions and higher education. Women began to split over the fourteenth and fifteenth amendment which had granted equal rights. Women wanted the same rights that others had to vote.
  • Carry Nation and the WCTU

    Carry Nation and the WCTU
    Carry Nation worked for a prohibition aginst alcohol sells and destroyed it. The group feared that alcohol qwas undermining American morals and ways. The group would protest and soon gained publicity with 245,000 memeber by 1911.
  • NAWSA forms.

    NAWSA forms.
    National American Woman Suffrage Association included prominent leaders such as Lucy Stone and Julia Ward Howe. This group put fear in the eyes of liquor industries and they thought women would vote for prohibition and vote against child labor.
  • Carrie Chapman Catt and NAWSA tactics.

    Carrie Chapman Catt served as president of NAWSA from 1900 to 1904. Her tactics were to make a painstaking organization, close ties between local,state, and national workers, establish wide based support, lobbying, and gracious, ladylike behaivor.
  • 19th Amendment

    Granted women the right to vote and was ratified on August 1920. After 72 years beginning in Seneca Falls convention women were finally able to cast their votes.
