The national organization for women (NOW) and their president Betty Frieden, is what originated the woman strike for equality. -

The president of the NOW organization, convinced all women to stop working, and go on strike. This way they could focus on problem of women not getting paid the same as men. -
Women's Strike
Betty headed the National Women’s Strike Coalition to organize the protest that used "Don't touch the iron while it is still hot" slogan. -
Women's rights heard
50 years after the protest women became able to vote, and feminists started to demand more power and political rights. -
Women's strike for equality (later on)
The women's strike continued in over ninety cities across the United states. These cities included, New York City, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Detroit, and many more
