    Prior to August 26, 1920 women did not have the right to vote. On this day women were given the right to vote with the 19th amendment.

    The Bus Boycott is born: Rosa Parks
    In Montgomery, Alabama, while riding a segregated bus, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white rider. She refused, and was then arrested. This sparked the bus boycott movement, ultimately a year later defeating the bus segregation laws. (I knew this)
