- it was held in London. Aboltionists Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton attended but they were barred from participating in the meeting.This leads to them deciding to to hold a women's rights convention.

300 people attened this conevetion in Seneca Falls,New York. This meeting lasted several days and a larger meeting followed in Rochester,New York. -
14th Amendment was passed
- this gave former slaves the right to vote. The amendment specfied that only males could excluding women's suffrage. Stanton and Anthony were outraged, Led to splits in movement.

Formed The National Woman Suffrage Association
Stanton and Anthony formed this. It only allowed female membership only. However Lucy Stone forms the American Woman Suffrage Association which allowed males to join the cause. -
15th Amendment was ratified
granted women to vote ,however when they went to the polls they were turned away -
Susan B. Anthony was arrested
- got arrested for illegal voting in Rochester ,NY

President Wilson adresses the Senate
- President Wilson issues a statement supporting a federal amendment to grant woman's suffrage. He addressed the Senate of the 19th amendment , but it fails to win the required2/3 majority.

Senate Passes 19th Amendment
The third time they had to vote , they passed the 19th amendment , suggragists begin their ratification campaign. -
Women can finally Vote !!
Despite the political subversion of anti-suffragists , particulary in Tennessee , three quarters of state legislatures ratify the 19th amendment. American women win full voting rights.
