Invasion of Afghanistan to find members of al-Qeada, people respomsible for 9/11, and to take control of government from Taliban who helped al-Qeada. 90,000 troops deployed to destroy al-Qeada. My uncle was one of the 90,000 so we cannot visit him as often.

Dad given job opportunity in PTC, Georgia. We moved away from Carmel, Indiana. We had to leave many family and friends in Indiana.

Apple inc. released touch screen phone that combined features of PDA, iPod, and cell phones. The new device was a popular demand in the market. I use my iPhone often for daily tasks.

Mortgage payments too high for many people due to the government encouraging banks to make loans to people who would not have been able to recieve it before. These people could not afford payments and were forced to forclose and move to low income areas, in with family, or to the streets. Many people I knew moved away as result.

Coming of age to take eucharist in church. I felt closer to God and the church. Felt more powerful at church doing what the adults could do.

British Petroleum oil rig explodes killing eleven members of crew. Oil spill raged on for about five months, killing wildlife and businesses. Vacation after spill was fixed to Gulf Shores was inexpensive.

Graduated Elem. school from Crabapple Lane and now in BMMS. I'm happy to be out of school with the little kids and having more freedom. The ceilings were a lot shorter then so I would hit my head often.

First select and school team I had ever made. Picked 12 out of 30 for team. Doubted I had really done well in tryouts.

Labor union strike caused Hostess, a packaged dessert company, to shut down due to lack of profit. Hostess laid off most workers and sold unused materials. Now many products I have enjoyed are not able to be purchased at stores.
