Sergei Korolev makes a breakthrough in his research
The lead scientist for the Soviets, Sergei Korolev, has made a breakthrough in his research, and has also named that breakthrough the Korolev theory. This provides great aid in their climb of the staircase to landing a man on the moon. The Soviets believe they are only years off and devote all funds that are available to the development to the rocket. Soviets land a man on the moon
They’ve finally done it! No one believed they could, but the Soviets have successfully landed a man on the moon. The development of the rocket using the korolev theory has proved to be far ahead of schedule then what the US had expected, as they are far behind in their development of a new booster. The US is expected to attempt a moon landing in the year of 1976, but since the importance of the Space Race had dimmed down now that the Soviets have won, they might as well give it up.
