    This event was the conclusion of the American war of Independence. Great Britain signed the treaty along with the U.S., Spain, and France as a symbol of peace.

    France sold us 828,000 square miles of land to the U.S. for 15 Million dollars. This land doubled the size of the U.S. and was from the Mississippi River to the Rockies and from the Gulf of Mexico to the Canadian Border.

    The new economic system that included three new ideas. These ideas were based on Alexander Hamilton's beliefs of government and backed by Henry Clay. The new ideas are a National Bank, taxation on foreign goods, and improved transportation.

    This is when Spain allowed the U.S. Floridan territory, thus creating new boundaries between the United States and Spain.

    This new policy declared that the U.S. was against colonization of foreigns and did not allow American interventions, keeping the United States neutral in European wars. This doctrine was given to Congress by President James Madison.

    The Trail of Tears was the name of the hike/route/trail that the Indians were forced to walk. This trail went from Southeastern America to nowadays Oklahoma, about 1000 miles. This event was part of the Indian Removal Act of 1830.

    Manifest Destiny is used in the expression of Westward Expansion. The thought that Americans should occupy North America, including the thought that Americans were racially and culturally superior to others, giving us the right to do so.

    The gold rush brought over 300,000 prospectors into California. These prospectors called 49'ers were hoping to strike it rich, which some did. Within the first year, the take was 80 million dollars, which is about 2 billion dollars nowadays.

    The Pony Express was a mail service that went from Missouri to Sacremento. Completed with the transcontinental telegraph. One brave rider that went down in history was William F. Cody aka Buffalo Bill. Pay for these riders was $25 a week.
