The Gadsen Pruchase was an agreement bewteen the United States and Mexico. The United States paid Mexico $10 million dollars for a portion of Mexico, which later becomes Arizona and New Mexico.

The southwest of the terriory became part of the Union as the state of Oregon. The remaining land is parts of present day Washington, Idaho, and portions of Montana.
