Was American's expansion westward inevitable?

    This war fought against British colonial Canada for land that america wanted to liberate. This war had no true victor but the U.S. did gain some land whcih opened more land for westward expansion.

    This compromise was made for when missouri wanting to join the union but as a slave free state. They ended up with saying when a pair of states are admited, one will be slave free the other can have slaves. This cause a massive influx of population in this area.

    the Indian Removal Act allowed the U.S. government to put force on the chiefs to signs removal treaties and provided some legal standing to remove them. This gained more land for the americans to settle in.

    Over many year there was disputes of who owned what parts of land by what is now oregon. Eventually the U.S. had rights of all off the land streching from oregon to alaska. This started having settelers move westward because the areas havent been setteled in.

    This started with mexico sharing parts of its land with america, modern day texas, and eventually tensions rose and had a war break out resulted in america gaining the land. After time mexico wanted to take it back which resulted in the alamo and america gaining even more land. This made americas land move even more west along with the people.
