    The Date of Imfamy
Pearl HarborThe skies are bright but our hearts are grey.December 7, 1941 Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese. The feeling of being a speck in someone's shooting range is so surreal. There's rumors that we knew about it. We knew about the whole thing and let it happen. And now, there's changes everywhere. Mama says that the world is full of hate right now. She says people in our own country did us wrong. I don't know if that's true but at this point it seems possible.

    Illegal Possesion
It's been four days since the attack and the country is driving itself mad. The only thing talked about in the news today was something about the FBI. I guess some people who live in the United States can't have cameras or guns. I don't understand this. What kind of people can't? I'm scared they'll take my little camera Daddy got me not too long ago. I ask Mama what people the news talks about but she gets angry. She says that they're just bad people who live here and that I shouldn't worry.
  • Alien Registration

    Alien Registration
I woke up this morning and Mama was listening to the news and she had a real exicted look on her face. She said that people were going to get what they deserve. I heard for myself that aliens were getting registered to the Unoted States because they were from another country. Mama says that next month they'll all be in camps like they're supposed to be. What does that mean? I don't know what kind of camps these are but she says they're good for us. But why are they aliens?

    Evacuation
"They're finally doing it," Mama said. She said in a few days all the bad people in our area were being removed. All the Japan people. I guess the United States made camps for them. The news says there's a lot of them, about 120,000.
  • Executive Order

    Executive Order
No. 9066The news says the President signed a big executive order. No. 9066 There's troops everywhere and they're taking all the Japan people. No one looks happy either. They look scared. There's a lot of them...I wonder where their camps are at. I hope they'll be okay. Mama's happy so I guess this is a good thing.

D-DayI woke up to hearing sirens and at first I thought there were troops in my street but really it was the radio. People were screaming and shouting saying "VICTORY FOR THE U.S." Mama says we did really good over Europe. The news says to make sure we don't forget the lives we lost but it also said we were going to beat Germany. It all gets really confusing, having problems with all these different countries.
