    When humans first used bows and arrows

    The ancient egyptians were the first to use them that is known as a hard fact. The egyptians would use them for war and hunting. During the time they did not have any thing that was not close combat so the bows and arrows gave them accuracy and a weapon that could produce a strong hit without have to be close to the person.

    When horses where first domesticated

    They were originally used as meat and source of mill like cattle but then tribesmen discovered that they could use them as transport. They helped with war because you could be in and out of your enemies camp within minutes and you were riding fast at then on something big so they were scared/shocked and could be killed easier.

    The Peloponnesian War

    It was fought between the Athens and Spartans.The Athens lost the war, which brought an end to the golden age of Ancient Greece. It was fought because the Athens and Sparta were in a peace treaty that lasted thirty years.During the time the Athens became very powerful and wealthy, so Sparta got jealous.During the first war the Spartans dominated the land and Athens the sea.The Spartans never breached the walls of Athens during the first war, many people/leader died inside the city due to plague.

    The development of the Trebuchet

    It was like a really big slingshot invented in china. A group of people would pull a huge rope connected to the top and load it then let go and it would throw huge rocks at other peoples fort and take out many people out at once. It improved war because it could make and enemy's camp gow from a huge castle to a pile of rumble.

    The invention of gunpowder

    The invention if gunpowder was an accident by a chinese alchemist. They were trying to find a way to extend life but when they mixed 75% saltpeter,15% charcoal,and 10% sulfur they realized it didn't extend life but it did explode when near fire and burnt down the building they were working in, along with the face and hands of the chemist. From this they made fireier arrows and then gun like things that would shot and be an instant kill when in war and you could now kill from farther away.

    The development of the first hand cannon

    The first hand cannons were used during the Tang Dynasty. They were used during war. The Chinese would fill long bamboo tubes with gunpowder and would launch it with a spear that was connected to the end. The bamboo would first be filled with random sharp objects so when lit and thrown at the enemy they would suffer from burns and cuts when it exploded.
    it improved war by making it possible to kill/injure many of your enemies and it was a quick moving object there wasn't much time to run.

    The invention of the Longbow

    Most of the time in was made out of yew wood. Which would be cured and hardened for 4 years before made to be around 6 feet tall and 5/8 inch wide. It could shoot 1/2 of a mile and had enough force to knock a knight off of his horse. An experienced longbowman could shoot 20 rounds per min. it was like a medieval machine gun. It helped war because you could shoot several times a min with a far distance and kill faster.

    The development of the first Submarine

    Leonardo da Vinci sketched how the submarine would look and then William Bourne had the first actual design. In 1620 the first successful one was made and was tested and completed a 3 hour journey. It was made by Cornelius Drebbel. It improved war because you could now get rid of your enemies before they ever docked on your land by coming up from the water.

    Spanish Conquest of the Aztec Empire -----> Hernan Cortes disobeyed his governors rules, and turned the trip to Yucatán Peninsula for an exploratory mission, into a historic military conquest.

    The Aztec emperor decided to send gifts to the spaniards to keep them at peace, but he only succeeded in enlarged their desires for riches. Cortés described the city as rich as the magical land where King Solomon got his gold. To proof his power and to keep any doubts away from his crew, he ordered the killing of the group from cuba. The advanced weapons the spanish had gave them an unfair advantage.

    The development of the Matchlock Gun

    It was introduced to china when Portuguese adventures got shipwrecked in Tanegashima. It could shoot up to 200 meters, a well trained person could shoot up to four shots per min. It helped them in war because war had started being long distance combat instead of up close.
  • The development of the Revolver Handgun

    Samuel Colt made the first revolver that marked the beginning of a new era of weapons. It had 5 places for ammunition that was .25. It was made because the soldiers were complaining about the amount of time it took to reload weapons leaving them vulnerable. It helped improve war because you could now shoot several times in a row and kill quicker without giving them much time to kill you while you are reloading.
  • The invention of the first Ironclad Warship

    The first Ironclad warship was created by the french and it was used because wood boats were to vulnerable to fire. It was named Gloire. It improved war because your enemy was no longer able to shoot arrows that were on fire and sink your ship.
  • American Civil War

    There was a great economic argument between the south and the north. The south was upset and wanted to be separated from the north and the north refused. The south went ahead and seceded when president Lincoln was elected. Since we were already at war about economic issues president lincoln through in the fact that we were also arguing about slavery so we also fought about that.
  • The invention of the first Machine Gun

    The first "Machine Gun" persay was called a gatling gun. It was created by Richard J. Gatling. It was created for war and he thought of it because he was trying to figure out how to lower the amount of soldiers we had out there and if one could take out many than we needed less. It helped war because we needed less people out on the battle field so we had less people packed together so now we had less people dying from close corded illnesses.
  • The development of the first Tank.

    The first "Tank" was a prototype called Little Willie and was created in England. It was far from success because it would get stuck in trenches and could only go through rough areas at 2 miles an hour. After they ,made some changes the tank transformed war because you could little just roll up in your enemy's camp in a big shell that kept them from killing you but you could kill them you could also drive through rough terrain and trenches.
  • The use of the first Atomic Bomb

    The first atomic bomb was used by the Americans. It wiped out 90 percent of the Japanese city of Hiroshima. It immetaley killed 80,000 people and later killed tens of thousands because of radiation.
    It changed war because you could now kill and destroy huge areas at a time.
  • When the first hydrogen bomb was first tested

    The United States was the first to conduct a test on a hydrogen bomb. It was a success and it had no use in warfare it was just being tested to see if it would work and new came out saying that it was a success and it did not say that it was a full size one but it said experiments contributing are a success.
    it helped war because it showed that making a bomb like that was possible.
