The birth of Vladek Spiegelman on October 11,1906. -

Vladek lives for 75 years. In those years, he goes through very tough times including the Holocaust which he is very lucky to survive. -
Love
Vladek meets Anja on December 15,1935. -
Marriage
Vladek and Anja happily marry on Valentines's day in 1937. -
First Child
Their first child, Richieu is born. -
Drafted
Vladek is drafted into the Polish army. -
Captured
Vladek is captured by Nazi soldiers. Soon after, Poland is defeated by Germany. -
Reunited
Vladik sneaks across the border of Poland and Germany to return back to his home where he is reunited with his family, especially Anja. -
Moved
All the Jews in Sosnoweic are moved to ghetto. -
Anja's Parents
Anja's parents are taken to Auschwitz and are killed. -
Hiding
Vladek and Anja go into hiding where they find multiiple places to hide from the gestapos. This includes Ms.Kawka's farmhouse, a cellar, hidden bunkers, and a construction site. -
Sent to "Safety"
Richieu is sent to live in Zaweirce to keep him safe but later on he is unfortunetely poisoned by the woman taking care of him who does not want to go to Auschwitz. -
Caught
Vladek and Anja attempt to escape to Hungary but are instead caught by Nazi soldiers and sent to Auschwitz. -
Evacuated
The prisoners in Auschwitz are evacuated and moved to the Dachua camp in order to avoid the Red Army. -
Saved
Vladek and his friends are told that they are going to Switzerland but never end up going there and instead get saved by American soldiers. -
DP Camp
Vladek is sent to a DP camp (camp for displaced persons), reunites with Anja, and together they immigrate to the US. -
Artie
Art Spiegelman is born on February 15, 1948. -
Anja
Anja commits suicide after not being able to handle the deaths of her loved ones, including her first son Richieu. -
The End
Vladek Spiegelman sadly passes away on August 18, 1982. :(
