Arrival in India
Continuing to float along the coast of Africa, Vasco da Gama reached Malindi. The pilot headed for the northeast and, using a passing monsoon, brought vessels to India. By the evening on May 20, 1498 the Portuguese vessels stopped on raid against the city of Calicut. -
