In 1794 Eli whitney gets the patient, but as more of the cotton gins are sold, more slaves are needed to work them. The invention was needed beacause it cotton was needed for clothes and fabrics, but it could not be made fast enough. Until the cotton gin was made.

In 1844 Samuel F.B. Morse built a cable which reached Washington DC from Baltimore. The Telegraph was a new way to commuinicate through small electric waves going through wire. This invention was needed to commuincate easly over long distances and not have to wait a period of time till you get the message.

Captain D. R. Willaims built the first modern machine gun. it was a 1 barrel 65 shots per minute, but it was drawn by horse. The first battle it was used in was Battle of seven pines/ bare oaks on May 3 1862. It was a huge success.
