  • Spanish American War

    Spanish American War
    the Spanish American War is a time period when a war started because of the Wilson Gorman Tariff of 1894. This tariff badly damaged the cuban economy. revolts started to occur and spain took charge but concerned the Americans because of their choices. years went by and by the time Mckinley entered into office, Cuba became more of an uproar and a U.S maine was sent to cuba. the Maine was destroyed which caused both america and cuba to go to war. http://history1900s.about.com/od/timelines/tp/timel

    Sanfrancisco Earthquake
    In 1906 a high magnitude earthquake struck San francisco California. It was the worst earthquake at that time in the Unites States. about 70 percent of the city was burned to the ground.

  • The Titanic

    The Titanic
    In 1912 the worlds biggest ship called the Titanic sailed from England to New York. it was known to be the unsinkable ship. on April 1912, the ship hit an ice berg and started to sink. there were not enough life boats on the ship so many people had swim. the ship held roughly around 2,000 passengers, but only about 700 surbived. many of the deaths wer caused due to the freezing wwater other than drowning. http://history1900s.about.com/od/timelines/tp/timeline.htm

    Archduke Ferdinand Assasinated
    two shots were fired on the Sarajevo Street on June of 1914 which caused a serious of events that shaped the world that we live in tofday.   • Sinking of the Lusitania

    Sinking of the Lusitania
    On May 7, 1915, the British ocean liner the Lusitania was sunk by a German U-Boat. the Lusitania was a very luxurious bout know to ferry people and transport goods between the Great Britain and the United States. As it was crossing the Atantic during the time of world war 1, which had daangerous waters due to the war, a German U-Boat spotted the Lusitania from about 14 miles away and sunk the boat with a torpedo. http://history1900s.about.com/o Because of this, it forced America to join the war.

    During the year of 1917 America joined world war 1 because of various of reasons but on of the main reasons why they jooined was because of the sinking of the Lusitania.   • Russian Czar and family killed

    Russian Czar and family killed
    In the middle of the night on July 16-17, 1918, Nicholas, the Czar, and his family were being moved to another safe location beecause the white army was getting nearer. The white army finally caught up to them and surrounded him and his family in a basement along with a cook, four servents, valet, doctor, and maid. the death sentences were all read aloud and the executioners all raised their guns and shot them. http://history1900s.about.com/od/timelines/tp/timeline.htm

    Frank Conrad was assistant Cheif engineer of the Westinghouse electric company. he was alsways interested in radios. One day he had a bet about the accuracy of his watch and so he built a radio reciever to hear the time signals transmitted by the Us Naval Observatory.     The tomb of king Tut was finally discovered. After working and searching for five years in the Valley of the Kings, Howard Carter was on his final sesaon of searching, then on November 4, 1992, one of his workers found a hidden step that was right under Rameses VI. he found the mummy of the boy Pharoah

    First Woman Swims English Channel
    on August 1926, 19 year old Gertrude Ederle became the first woman to swim 21 miles across the English ZChannel in 14 hours and 31 minutes which was about 2 hours less than any man.

  • Babe Ruth make a homerun record

    Babe Ruth make a homerun record
    in 1927 babe Ruth was playing for the New York Yankees. he and Lou Gehrig were on the same team. both men had reached the 45th home run of the season. Lou was unexpectedly slowed down and all that was left was Babe ruth to hit an enormous 60 homeruns. on September 30, 1927, Babe ruth hit his 60th homerun and the crowd and fans allhttp://history1900s.about.com/od/timelines/tp/timeline.htm cheered for him he had made the new world record during that time period.

    Very First Mickey mouse Cartoon
    In April 1928, walt Disney was depressed because his distibutor stole his popular character, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, so on day as he took a long train ride, he drew a new character, Mickey mouse. A few moths later, he created the first ever talking Mickey Mouse and it was shown to the world in a cartoon called Steamboat Willie.   • Amelia Earhart

    Amelia Earhart
    Amelia one day recieved a phone call. that phone call would change her life. She was invited to be the first woman to fly accross the atlantic ocean in a plane. on june 17 she and her co-pilots finally landed in Burry Port, South Wales.
