    1492- Christopher Columbus sails with 90 men on three ships for the Spanish looking for Asia. He predicted to find land after 21 days of sailing but his theory was false. After he was unsucessful in finding any land for 1 month his crew started to fall apart.

    Finally Land
    October 12, 1492- Columbus discovered land which he thought was the Indies and claimed the land for Spain. However, he was actually in the Americas.

    January, 1493- Columbus returned to Spain leaving some men at the lands he found. He wanted more men and ships to conquer more land.

    For More Land
    Later 1493- Columbus returned to the Americas this time with more men. He had 17 ships full of soldiers, settlers and priests along with him. Columbus had promised the Kind and Queen to give in return to the support, gold and slaves.
