    Whitcomb L. Judson invented the zipper in 1891. There were three kinds of zippers; metal, plastic, and nylon. Zippers were first made for shoes.

    The first electric hearing aid was invented by Miller Reese Hutchison. Hearing aids help people with weak hearing. Without them, many people would be basically deaf.

    The jungle gym is a system of metal pipes and ropes creating monkey bars and swings of sorts. Sebastian Hinton invented this. A jungle gym used to be called monkey bars, now monkey bars are a seperate piece of the jungle gym.

    Lionel C. Sternberger is believed to be the first person to invent the cheeseburger. It first started off as a hamburger with a slice of cheese but has progressed to adding multiple ingredients and toppings. Cheesburgers are a portion of why beef is the most consumed meat in America.

    Sunglasses are glasses that have darkened lenses to block the sun. Sam Foster invented these. Chinese judges wore glasses with smoke-colored quartz to cover their eye expressions during court but these were not considered sunglasses.

    A golf cart is a small vehicle designed to carry two golfers and their golf clubs around a golf course. It was first invented by an unknown man who physically couldn't walk the whole eighteen holes of the course in 1932. The golf cart was first released to the public in 1951 by Merle Williams.

    A shopping cart is a metal or plastic basket with wheels used at stores. Shopping carts are usually supplied at the store and you return them once used. Sylvan Goldman was the first person to invent the shopping cart.

    How Cruise Control WorksCruise control automatically controls the speed of a motor vehicle. Ralph Teetor invented cruise control in 1945 and he was blind. He had the idea to make this becasue whenever his lawyer would drive him, he'd keep speeding up and slowing down.

    An airbag is located inside a car, usually in the steering wheel and passenger side dashboard. An airbag is a safety feature designed to protect passengers in a head-on collision. John W. Hetrick invented the airbag after his family was involved in a car crash.

    VideotapeVideotape is a way to record images and sound onto magnetic tape as used in movie film. The first professional videotape machine was the Quadruplex videotape in 1956 by Charles Ginsburg and Ray Dolby. Videotaping has let us capture so many memories and events so we will never forget them. This was the start of all recording technology that has led us to the recording technology of today.
