The American Revolution
The American revolution is the period in which the American citizens revolted against their British leadership. This is an example of conflict because many people were killed during this fight for independence. -
Louisiana Purchase
A massive purchase of land by the U.S for their expansion. This is an example of the American Dream because it allowed for people to have more freedom in which areas they wanted to live in and not be restricted to the once thirteen colonies. -
Manifest Destiny
This was the period of territorial expansion westward for the U.S. This is an example of Progress because with the territorial expansion came better opportunities for jobs for all kinds of people as well as different life styles and businesses. -
The Missouri compromise
This compromise allowed Missouri to be admitted as a slave state and Maine to be a free state, and stated that no slave states could be founded above the 36 30 line. This is an example of compromise because it kept a balance of slave and free states and made both parties happy. -
Monroe Doctrine
A contract with Britain that stated the U.S. would not interfere with British colonies if they did not attempt to colonize the Americas. This is an example of diplomacy because they were both able to find a peaceful solution and end the tension between them. -
Emancipation Proclomation
Abraham Lincoln stated that all slaves were free and under the protection of the Union. This is an example of leadership because he took it upon himself to declare equality among all whites and blacks.
