  • Cherokee Nation V Georgia

  • THE CUMBERLAND ROAD

    The national road was built in 1811 to reach the western settlements. It grew popular and people called it the "The Main Road Of America" it was generally the main type of transportation.
  • Era Of Good Fellings

    The Era Of Good Feelings was a phrase that descibed the national mood of the U.S. about 1815-1825 after the outcome of the War in 1812.
  • Erie Canal

    During 1817-1825 many imagrants worked long and hard to create a waterway, The Erie Canal. The Erie Canal became the main mode for water transportantion, a floating home for many local, and a great vacationing spot.
  • Missouri Compromise

    The Missouri Compromise wascreated in order to maintain balance between slave states and slave-free states. The Missouri Compromse was admitted to make Missouri a slave state and Main a slave-free state.
  • Election of John Quincy Adams

    The election of John Q. Adams was different from the other past elections because congress was no longer allowed to vote/choose who is going to be the next president. Instead the people are allowed to vote.
  • Cherokee Capitol of New Echota

    In 1825 Cherokee built one of it's first ever national buildings, New Echota. It was an example of one of the earliest attempts for Indians of becoming civalized.
  • Cherokee Constitution Written

    In 1827 the offical Cherokee national Constitution was created, it made them civalized. It was an outline of what they were suposed to do and act.
  • Election of Andrew Jackson

    The election of Andrew Jackson was one of the dirtiest ever, this is the period in time in which the comman man can vote and Jackson was going to campaign to his fullest.
  • Gold is Discovered in the Cherokee Nation Triggering America's First Gold Rush

    In 1829 word spread that Georgia had gold. Many men were attracted to the Chattahooche River and the Etowah River, crime started to spread and by 1830 most all of the gold had already been mined.
  • Georgia Nullifies All Cherokee law

    Georgia resfused to take concideration of Cherokee law, they absolutely despised Indians and wanted nothing to do with them. They ignored the Cherokee and wante them remeoved, Georgia also made laws prohibiting Cherokee from doing curtain things.
  • Cherokee Nation V Georgia

    During 1831 the Cherokee nation was seeking a federal injunction against the laws that have been pasted, prohibiting them from doing certain things, the laws deprived Indians of basic human rights. The Idians were being treated unfairly and wanted justice, they wanted the laws to be terminated.
  • Second Seminole War

    Northern Settles started to invade Florida, the settlers often clashed with the Seminole Indians but in Florida's attempt to remove the Seminole Indians chaos broke loose. Jackson worked to make an Indian Removal Act was passed 1830, to relocate but they refused to move. Later after the indian's suprise attack on America, Florida sent U.S. troops to defeat the Seminoles and make them move, it worked. The leader was then captured and the Seminole population began to decine.
