    The Spanish, French, British and Dutch had all different economic reasons to want to colonize new parts of the new world and other new found places. This would later involve imperial goals of land and labor that will result in how social and political structures are shaped and the development of their newly formed colonies as well as how they get along with the Natives of the land.
  • British Colonies

    British Colonies
    Early in the 17th century the British created newly formed colonies which were developing along the Atlantic coast each having differences revolving around their environments, economy, culture and demographic features. Many English colonies settled along the Atlantic coast to set up ports that would end up being economically beneficial to them.
  • Competition

    Competition
    Following colonies being set in place in the new world in the 17th century this caused many differences between groups of Europeans and natives causing rivalry and competition between Europeans and the Natives. The main resource that was fought over was land. The unfair colonization of land led to conflict that would soon leave many dead.
  • Atlantic Slave Trade

    Atlantic Slave Trade
    The Atlantic slave trade happened between the 16th and 17th century. 12 Million slabbed were shipped as cargo on ships to the Americas. Once there they would be used on plantation for sugar, cocoa, coffee and cotton. Chains were used on them and many died on the ships there due to diseases.
