    Thatcher is choosen as the first female Prime Minister in history for the UK. She was a member of the Conservative party and served until she retired in 1990.

    After Thatcher resigns Major is choosen as the new leader of the conservative party and thus the new Prime Minister. He served until 1997 when the Labour Party won the election.

    After the 1997 election the Labour party wins a majority for the first time in decades. They decide to appoint Tony Blair as the Prime Minister. He supported social programs and used terms such as "new socialism."

    Gordon Brown is appointed as the head of the labour party and the Prime Minister in 2007 after Tony Blair decides to resign. He serves until 2010 when the coalition government between the conservative party and the Liberal Democrats takes over.
