    The cotton gin that was created by Eli Whitney, was very important in the U.S. It sped up cotton cleaning very highly. Although it did make slavery shoot up a lot because there was a greater demand for slaves.
  • Indian Removal Act

    The Indian Removal Act was extremely important in the U.S. It was made to remove the indians from a certain area and move them to a new area. It wasn't passed to do it, but the president can tell the military to do whatever he wants so he forced them to push the indians out of the area.

    Appomattox Court House is the court house where General Robert E. Lee surrendered at. After a very long time of trying very hard to catch him they finally did. They wanted to catch him because he was a big help to the South and they weren't going to beat the South easily if he was in control.

    On April 15, 1865, Lincoln was assassinated. At Ford's Theatre, John Wilkes Booth snuck up to him after getting passed his body guard, then he shot him in the back of the head and jumped from the balcony. After that his vice president Andrew Johnson, took over office for Lincoln.

    Ellis island was first open to the public on January 1st, 1892. It was used as a immigration port for immigrants when they came over. It helped a lot by not lettting anyone get across the border orjoin the country without going through them.

    On January 21, 1910, Angel Island was first opened. It was used as an immigration port for any immigrants coming over from the West. It was made so that anybody could come over, but the Chinese. They wouldn't have needed these, but if they didn't have them the Chinese would be able to pass over.

    World War ll was a long war that went on for around 10 years. There were many battles that went on and 50 to 85 million people were killed. This resulted in the new deadliest war in history.
  • Atomic Bombing on Hiroshima Japan

    On August 6, 1945, there was a bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan during the final stages of World War ll. It was a very bad day for Japan because it killed 90,000-166,000 people. It was even worse than it would have been because they knew it was coming and they had been warned about it. That is why that day was so bad.
  • Eruption of Mount St. Helens

    On May 18, 1980, a giant eruption occured. This eruption came from what was thought to be a mountain but turned out to be a volcano. This volcano was sleeping for around 130 years since its last explosion. It was very bad, it caused over 1.1 billion dollars of damage. This eruption was one of the worst ever to happen.

    I was born in Lancaster General Hospital on May 19, 2001. In my house, there is 4 people, my Dad, Mom, Sister, and me. I also have a dog named Gabby that lives with us to. Some interests that I have are hunting, shooting, fly-fishing, and playing baseball.

    On September 11, 2001, was an extremely bad day. There was a horrible attack on the twin toowers by two terrorists. They flew their plans into the the towers and they started to fall down and push dust and ashes everywhere. It killed many people that day and it was not good at all.
