    The Continental Congress signed the Decleration of Independence on July 4, 1776. The Declaration of Independence, is what declared our nation free. It is so important becasue then we became an independent nation when it was signed.

    U.S. Contitution
    The U.S. Constitution divides power between three different branches. It has checks and balances for all branches, so that all branches have equal power. No branch has more power, compared to another. It is important, because it was an improvment, from the Articles of Confederation.

    Louisiana Purchase
    The Louisiana Purchase was a land deal between France, and the U.S. and we had bought 827,000 square miles of land west of the Mississippi river for 15 million dollars. It was a big deal because it helped America grow, and gain land. It helped us explore new things, and learn things from the Native Americans.

    California Gold Rush

    In 1848 gold was first found by James Marshall, news spread around and the first to hear about it were people in Oregon, Hawii, and the latin America. Between the years an estimated 300,000 people to CA. It was so important becasue it was the first time in history when you could find gold, and claim it to be yours, no taxes, or paying to a king or leader. It also helped with the spread of people into CA.

    On september 1, 1939 Germany invaded Poland without warning, sparking the start of the World War Two. The war took six long years. World War Two involved every major world power for domination. At it's end over 60 million people lost their lives. It's so important because of how big the war was, itself. Plus, how many people have lost their lives.

    The march in Washington and Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech was one step closer to equal rights. It was a movement, and it was a peacful protest. The march in Washington and MLK's speech were so important, becasue it helped with equal rights, and freedom.

    Apollo 11 Landing On the Moon!
    Landing on the moon was a big deal for America. It was " One small step for man, one large leap for mankind" said Armstrong. It was so important becasue once we landed, we were able to see everything that went on at the moon. America could make new discoverys, and find more about stuff we never knew possible.

    I was born on a rainy day, and it was sill kinda cold outside. That was the day I became a little sister, and around two years before I became an older sister. My interests now include: cows, trucks, football, and music.

    Terrorist Attack, 9/11
    The terrorist attack on september 11, was a very serious thing. It took out the two twin towers, in New York City. It killed very many people, as well. It's so serious and important, because it shows that a big event like that, can't tear the U.S. apart, but makes us stronger as one.
